Delivery Order Properties

Delivery Order Properties

You can modify various delivery settings at your convenience. These settings will only affect Delivery orders. Follow the instructions below to login and customize them on your Orderspoon Dashboard:

  • Sign in to Orderspoon with your Square credentials from here: Login
  • Click on the Delivery tab.
  • If you are offering Delivery as a service, then the "Enabled" setting should be turned on (green).

Note: Keep in mind that Orderspoon does not currently offer an integrated delivery management solution. These orders will be displayed on your Square POS and it's up to the restaurant to manage the logistics of deliveries.
  • In the "Avg. Preparation Time" field, add the average time it takes to process a delivery order. Orderspoon will use this time frame to advise your customers approximately when their order will be delivered.
This also affects the time slots available for your customers to choose from if you have enabled "Order Later".

  • "Custom prep. time" is a useful feature if you want to have dynamic preparation times depending on which day it is. Setting up a custom prep. time will override the "Avg. Preparation Time" for the day and the hour you specify.

For example: If your Avg. Preparation Time is 20 minutes but you set up a custom prep of 40 minutes for Mondays from 12:45 pm to 2:15 pm, customers that place a Delivery order within that time window will get a 40 minute estimated time of delivery.

When customers place orders at 2:16 pm or later, the preparation time will automatically revert to the 20 minutes in the Avg. Preparation Time.

  • There are two options to choose from as "Distance Type":
    • Radius: If chosen, you have the ability to set multiple radiuses with different distances, minimum orders, and fees. Your store address will be taken as the circle center. Customers outside the radiuses you create will not be able to place Delivery orders.

To add a new radius, fill in the Distance, Min. Order and Fee boxes and click on the green "Add" button to the right. For this example, we created a 10-mile radius with no minimum and a $3 fee:
    • Zone: If chosen, you will have the ability to draw multiple, more precise zones using a Google Maps API. Customers outside of the zones you draw will not be able to place Delivery orders.

To add a zone, fill in the Zone Name, Min. Order and Fee boxes and click on the blue "Draw" button.
Next, place your cursor over a starting point of your choice and click once for the dot to be placed on the map. You will be able to click anywhere on the map and the dots will be connected automatically.
When finished, just close the zone by clicking the first point you placed.

For this example, we created "Zone 1" with a minimum order of $3 and a $5 fee:
    • On the right-hand side of the screen, we have the Delivery hour settings:
You can add the specific hours in which your business will accept Delivery orders. These hours work in conjunction with your Avg. Preparation Time to limit when orders can be placed.

For example: if you set an Avg. Preparation Time of 20 minutes and your closing time is 8 pm, customers will be able to place orders up until 7:40 pm.

As stated above, this also affects the time slots available for your customers to choose from if you have enabled "Order Later". If your Avg. Preparation Time is 20 minutes, customers will be able to place an order in 20-minute time slots.

NOTE: If you click on the green "Add" button to add your hours, and they seem not to be displayed below, try navigating to a different tab (i.e. Pickup) and come back to Delivery. Your hours should be displayed correctly.
