Order Cap & Order Cap Interval
The Orderspoon app gives you the option to control how many orders your business receives within a specified time frame. This feature helps to keep your kitchen staff from being overwhelmed by online orders. You can space out how many orders arrive per time slot, keeping your staff and customers happy.
To setup Order Management:
- Click on "Sign In to Square" and login with your Square credentials - Click on the Order Management Tab:
Enable Order Cap- Enables/Disables the Order Cap functionality
Order Cap
- This is the number of orders that are allowed to be placed
Order Cap Interval
- This is the time frame in which the orders will be placed
Save
- Saves the Order Management settings
For example: - Order Cap: Enabled
- Set Order Cap: 5
- Set Order Cap Interval:10
This means that your restaurant will be able to accept 5 orders every 10 minutes. When customers select a time slot at the checkout page, Orderspoon will first check if the time is available.
NOTE: Keep in mind that for this to happen, the Order Later feature must be enabled. If not, customers will not be able to select another time slot and they will have to wait for the Order Cap Interval to place an order.
Also, please note that preferably the time periods should be to some extent similar to your Average Preparation Time, as using different times in both settings may cause confusion for some users.
In some extraordinary cases, in which two clients place an order at the same time, it may happen that if the limit of orders set for that period of time was 10, the circumstances lead to 11 orders.
